RUN FOR THE WALL XXII
CALIFORNIA TO WASHINGTON DC 2010
Riding in Freedom for Those Who Can't
Two Routes One Run One Mission
Whether you are a rider, family member or supporter of the mission; your goal is to complete the mission of making it to the WALL. Each individual
has their own reason for doing this mission, just as in – country (Your Theater of Operations) we needed to support each other. It did not matter if you were a
clerk, pilot, driver, officer or enlisted, or the man next to me; you had a job to do that job supported the mission. It is easy to forget,
WE MUST NEVER FORGET!!!
We
have a chain of command and a chain of support now just as we had then, and our current military has now. It has been said that no man is an island, this is never truer than in combat, it takes 8 to 15 support
troops to feed, arm, move, house and evacuate one ground soldier on a successful mission. If one part of the support failed the mission had the possibility of
failure. So as we take on this mission of running to the Wall, let’s remember to say welcome home to each other, hug an FNG, remember the mission, those who came before, and set the example for those yet to
come. In a bigger way as you ride, remember the support factor, the food, water, Staging Crew, Fuel Team, Road Guards, State Coordinators, Route Command Team, The BOD, and the
People on the bridges and overpasses, the Local police, and small towns who open their doors and hearts to us are our mission support. They are there to help us
succeed, so remember to say thank you and through your actions show that you appreciate and understand the true gift you are being given.
